Our Purpose

The purpose of the Association is to promote honey bees and beekeeping in the North Shore metropolitan area of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, inclusive of Washington, Ozaukee, Waukesha and Milwaukee counties and to:

  • Promote the welfare of honey bees and native pollinators, as well as those who manage and support them.

  • Teach and encourage methods of beekeeping that lead to healthy bees.

  • Maintain friendly and helpful relations with State and regional organizations.

  • Support best practices of beekeeping for pollinators, honey and hive products;

  • Mentor new/current beekeepers and support apiaries and native fixtures.

  • Provide bee related information for containment and abatement of feral pollinators.

  • Promote pollinator advocacy at community functions and for civic governance.

  • Foster synergy among beekeeping groups, garden clubs and civic groups.

  • Encourage pollinator-friendly planting to help the bee population increase.
